HOW TO REPORT DRUG USE
Many schools throughout Arizona have a School Resource Officer (SRO) on campus. However, it is also the responsibility of the teacher to report drug use. Failure to do so could result in a Class 3 Misdemeanor.
A.R.S. 13-3411-F states:
All school personnel who observe a violation of this section shall immediately report the violation to a school administrator. The administrator shall immediately report the violation to a peace officer. It is unlawful for any school personnel or school administrator to fail to report a violation as prescribed in this section.
Many districts have additional required procedures. If you are unclear about the policies regarding the reporting of drug use in your district, please see you administrator for further help.
