Help for Parents
Parents, grandparents and other caregivers are the most influential people in a child's life. You, as a parent, have the power to keep your child healthy, safe and drug free.
When is the best time or best age to talk to your kids about drugs? The best time is RIGHT NOW. The best age is whatever age they are RIGHT NOW. Whether your child is 5 or 15, it's never too early -- or too late -- to educate your child about the dangers of drugs.
But the first step is to educate yourself. Kids can ask tough questions. You need to be ready to answer them. The links at the right will help you arm yourself with the knowledge you need to keep your child off drugs.

Your child is exposed to drugs at an early age and not just alcohol, tobacco and marijuana. Click the image to the left to learn the common slang term for illicit and prescription drugs. Use the "Drug Facts" drop down above to learn about the side effects and warning signs. These resources along with the Handy Helpful and links to the right will help to start a conversation with your children about the risks of drug use. |
